How to Setup Homepage in WordPress?
If you are a WordPress user, you can find tons of free and premium templates with stunning homepage designs on its demo. You can easily import it on your website if the theme of your choosing has a one-click demo import feature. This feature allows you to copy all the demo content in a single click which makes it easier to set up the homepage in less amount of time.
Setting Up Homepage in WordPress?
Now let’s get along with the step by step tutorial to setup a homepage on your WordPress website:
Step 1: Install WordPress Theme
The first thing you need to do is choose a WordPress theme. If you are not about what type of design you want for your website, we recommend you to go for a free theme as many lite themes nowadays offer multiple demo layouts with demo import features. You can find free WordPress themes from WordPress.org or from directory sites.

For the purpose of the tutorial, we have chosen Neve. It is one of highly-rated WordPress multipurpose theme by ThemeIsle.
Step 2: Checking Out Starter Website
Upon successful activation, you will receive a congratulation like the one in the screenshot below.
You can directly check out the demo website or go to the theme configuration settings or return to the theme dashboard.
Click on “Try one of our ready to use Starter Sites” to check out the pre-made starter websites.
Step 3: Demo Importation and Installation
Neve offers a wide range of starter website. So, you can preview and choose any of the layouts as per your need.
To make it easier, Neve has categorized the starter website into 4 different categories i.e. Elementor, Brizy, Beaver Builder, and Gutenberg. All 4 of them are drag and drop builder plugins that let you create and customize any pages/posts without having to touch any codes.
After you have chosen the demo layout, click on the “Import” button.
A popup like the one below.
You can enable/disable different contents and plugins for the demo. Then, click on “Import” to confirm demo installation.
It may take some time to complete the demo installation.
After the demo installation is completed, you can see a screenshot like the one below.
There, you can preview how your website looks or add your own content on the homepage.
Step 4: Configuring your Homepage
Now that, you have installed the demo contents on your website, go to Pages >> All Pages and hover over “Home” and click on “Edit with Elementor.”
Now, drag and drop any items that you want to add on the homepage.
Then, click on “Update” to save your editings.
